The days are long, but the years are short: this adage has never been more true than in 2020. But let’s make the most of each day, especially as we celebrate the end of summer. With Labor Day right around the corner, fulfill your summer bucket list and enjoy making some new memories.

Effective today, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a testing mandate for all Health Care Communities. With cases in Chesterfield County on the rise, it is mandated that we conduct another round of COVID-19 testing of residents and employees.

This afternoon, we were informed that one of our Independent Living employees who works in the Kitchen has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee has not been on campus since August 16th, and the risk of contact spread to residents is extremely low. Due to HIPAA regulations, we cannot provide any personal or health information at this time.

Starting on 7/30, we began Step 3 again. See changes in bold from the 7.29 memo. Dining Updates Below are the dining guidelines to follow during Step 3.

We are happy to report that we are in the process of slowly reopening the services offered to our residents at the Health Care Community, The Haven, Assisted Living and Memory Care. We are following the VDH (Virginia Department of Health) and the CMS (Centers of Medicare and Medicaid) guidance for phase reopening. We have submitted our Phase Change Attestation plans to CDH (Chesterfield County Department of health).

While our Brandermill Woods neighbors are absolutely the best, everyone also enjoys having family come to visit. The connection, especially between parent and child does not diminish, and often grows stronger as the years pass. That’s why we’re excited to celebrate Sons and Daughters Day on Aug. 11. We hope to see many sons and daughters visiting outside in the weeks to come.
