Yes, certainly. Guests may visit you and enjoy all of the amenities of the Clubhouse and if you like to travel, you'll feel secure about your home and your possessions while you're away.


Pets are welcome, but are subject to Brandermill Community Association and Chesterfield County regulations and restrictions. A $700 non-refundable pet fee is required.


The Health Care Communities offer several levels of care from full service apartment living to skilled nursing care. The Health Care Communities include a 60-bed, fully licensed nursing home and a three-story building containing 40 assisted-living and 19 memory enhanced rental apartments. A new state-of-the-art 22-bed rehab wing was opened in the spring of 2015.


Yes. Both are located on-site and only residents of Brandermill Woods have priority admittance.


Many residents bring their cars with them; however, Brandermill provides scheduled transportation throughout the community. An on-campus shuttle is available throughout the day so that residents are able to attend activities or visit neighbors easily.


The entire community is equipped with a state-of-the-art security system that monitors the sprinkler system, inclusive of smoke and heat detectors in each unit. In the event of a fire, an alarm notifies the security desk and the fire department will be dispatched immediately.

The haven offers the highest level of care for older adults. This includes 24-hour room and board and health care services, including transferring in and out of bed, and providing assistance with feeding, bathing, and dressing.


Long-term custodial care is not covered by medicare, medigap or commercial insurance unless an individual has had a qualifying hospital stay (at least three nights) and qualifies for skilled nursing care. An individual qualifies for up to 100 days in their snf benefit period, however most residents don’t use the full benefit period. After 20 days in a snf, an individual is responsible for the daily medicare co-payment if their medigap insurance doesn’t cover the costs. Brandermill woods will also assist in billing an individual's long-term care health insurance if applicable.

We started with the idea of serving Brandermill Woods residents such as those in Independent Living homes who may need short-term recovery, but we quickly recognized a strong demand for in-home care on- and off-campus. We are here for everyone within the surrounding Richmond area.


As a continuum of care community, we aim to provide as many homecare services as possible in your home. These services range from household help such as running errands, to personal care such as medication management or assistance with daily tasks. Thanks to our campus team’s capabilities, we are also able to offer specialized services including memory and hospice support.
