Health Care Community – The Haven, Assisted Living and Memory Care

As we approach year three of this pandemic, it continues to be apparent that our team members and residents are the most resilient and adaptable. We have gained knowledge and are confident in our fight against COVID, we have learned not to fear a positive result. As of today, the COVID transmission rate for Chesterfield County Health Care is HIGH at 18.69%

We were informed today that one of our residents in The Haven tested positive for COVID-19. The resident has minor symptoms and is quarantined at this time. We initiated contact tracing and testing as required.

It is recommended that everyone should get “up-to-date” with their COVID-19 vaccines per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. The new Bivalent Booster has been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is now available at local pharmacies in our area.

Please continue to take additional measures to make visitation safer. This includes wearing well-fitting masks, surgical or KN95 at all times, performing hand hygiene, and practicing physical distancing. Do not mingle in the common areas of the community. Please do not visit your loved one and contact your doctor if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: sore throat, severe lingering headache, sinus/head pressure, head congestion, runny nose, nausea, cough, and fatigue. Visitors who are unable to adhere to our core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention that are consistent with the guidance for nursing homes will not be permitted to visit or should be asked to leave.

For further questions regarding protocols, contact: Jennifer Pitzer at 804-379-7100 ext. 187 or jpitzer@brandermillwoods.com.

We remain steadfast in keeping you informed on changes related to COVID-19 in our Health Care Community and continue to follow the latest guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Virginia Department of Health (VDH). Team members who are not vaccinated with exemption, are tested once a week as required.

We are celebrating our Therapeutic Recreation team members this week during National Activities Professional Appreciation Week. Please help us show them gratitude for all they do!

Thank you for your continued support!
