On January 2, 2026, we lost a valued member of the Brandermill Woods family — Chairman of the Board, Norman Leslie “Les” Saunders Jr.
Les served Brandermill Woods with distinction for more than 35 years, providing steadfast leadership, thoughtful counsel, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His vision and guidance were instrumental in shaping the organization you know today — one rooted in integrity, service, and long-term stewardship of both mission and relationships.
Throughout his career as an attorney, public servant, and community leader, Les exemplified professionalism, trust, and generosity. These qualities defined his leadership at Brandermill Woods and were evident in every partnership he helped foster. He valued collaboration and believed deeply that strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful impact.
Les’s influence extended far beyond our organization, yet Brandermill Woods held a special place in his heart. He took great pride in the community and in the people—residents, staff, and partners—who help sustain its mission. We are profoundly grateful for Les’s decades of service and the legacy he leaves behind. His leadership will continue to guide us as we move forward, honoring the standards and values he so faithfully upheld.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Les’s family and loved ones.
