Health Care Community

We are very pleased to announce that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have updated its visitation guidance. They continue to emphasize the importance of maintaining infection prevention practices, given the continued risk of COVID-19 transmission.

The Brandermill Woods management team is happy to announce that beginning Friday, April 30, 2021, we will implement the following changes to our visitation program.

Physical distancing and mask recommendations when both the resident and all of their visitors are fully vaccinated:

  • While alone in the designated visitation area, residents and their visitor(s) can choose to have close contact (including touch) and to not wear a mask.
  • Visitors should wear a mask and physical distance from other residents/visitors/staff that are not part of their group at all other times while in the facility.

Physical distancing and source control recommendations when either the resident or any of their visitors are not fully vaccinated:

  • The safest approach is for everyone to maintain physical distancing and to wear source control. However, if the resident is fully vaccinated, they can choose to have close contact (including touch) with their unvaccinated visitor(s) while both continue to wear well-fitting source control.

We must continue to consider how the number of visitors per resident at one time and the total number of visitors in the facility at one time (based on the size of the building and physical space) may affect the ability to maintain the core principles of infection prevention. Therefore, we will continue to require that all indoor and outdoor visits be scheduled.

Please email Trisha Pedersen at tpedersen@brandermillwoods.com to schedule a visit. There will be no more than two (2) visitors per resident. Restrooms will not be available for visitors. No children under the age of 12 years old and no pets are permitted to visit. Please respect our 6 feet indicators when arriving at check-in for your visit and wear a mask. Visits will be 30 minutes in duration and recurring visits will not be allowed due to the limited visits. We want all our residents to have the opportunity to have visits with family. A copy of the revised Guidelines for Indoor Visitation is attached for your convenience.

We will continue to have dedicated indoor locations for visits. Visitors of residents of The Haven will use the Florida Room and enter the building at The Haven.

Visitor testing is encouraged, but not required for in-state visitors. Out-of-state visits must be tested before entry. Testing will be provided free of charge and takes roughly 15 minutes to result before entry, please schedule the test with Trisha at the time you make your appointment for visit. It is encouraged that frequent visitors be tested. Visitors may provide their COVID vaccination card to be kept on file with visit records.

We are very proud that All COVID-19 test results since February 19th, 2021 have been negative.

As always, you will be notified as soon as possible if our visitation program and other processes need to change.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we move forward. It will take everyone’s full cooperation for this program to succeed.
