Health Care Community

The Haven - This week’s weekly COVID testing conducted on September 28, 2020 found that one employee who works in The Haven tested positive for COVID-19. That employee is now quarantined at home. As a precaution, Brandermill Woods plans to quarantine residents in The Haven to their rooms for 14 days and will monitor for signs and symptoms. If signs/symptoms arise, residents will be COVID tested based on physician order.

This precaution results in dine-in services, beauty salon services, small group activities, and door/outdoor visits to temporarily be put on hold. During this time, visits at the resident’s window will be encouraged. If you would like to set up a facetime or zoom, please reach out to Trisha Pederson at tpedersen@brandermillwoods.com.

The Assisted Living and Memory Care - moved forward to Phase II reopening on September 21, 2020.  Outdoor visits with family members and friends are going well. These outdoor visits do depend on the weather, the resident’s condition and their individual physical ability. The rules that we enforce will include wearing a mask, practicing social distancing of six feet and specific scheduled time frames.  Please email Trisha Pederson at tpedersen@brandermillwoods.com to schedule an outdoor visit. We are also finalizing a plan to offer Country Rides, and you will be notified as soon as we complete our plans.

For the entire Health Care community, The Haven, Assisted Living and Memory Care, our direct care staff continue to wear N95 masks, and all employees continue to practice frequent and thorough hand washing. Employees and vendors continue to be screened daily for signs/symptoms prior to their shift.

Brandermill Woods will continue to test all employees/vendors based on the positivity rate in the county, per CMS guidelines. The positivity rate this week has decreased for Chesterfield County to 7.2%; therefore, we will continue our weekly testing for all employees of the Health Care Community on Monday, October 5 and October 12, 2020.

Plans for safe access and indoor visitation to residents are currently being developed and will be revisited post-quarantine for The Health Care Community.

As we continue to navigate this pandemic, please let all our employees know how much they are appreciated. We are grateful for a Team that is able to adapt at a moment’s notice to protect all residents and employees.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
