Important Status Update from Charmaine Preiss, Executive Director—12/21/21

Tuesday, December 21, 2021

To all Independent Living Community residents and employees:

We were informed yesterday that an employee tested positive for COVID-19 and this afternoon one of our Independent Living residents notified us that they have tested positive for COVID-19. The resident lives in an apartment and will be quarantined at home for 10 days. The employee is quarantined at home. We plan to continue contact tracing of residents and employees potentially exposed.

Our Infection Control Preventionist has been contacted and is working with the ILU Management Team. At this time, we are taking extra precautions by requiring that all everyone wear a mask at all times, effective immediately. Any employee or resident that has not had the booster, is required to wear a KN95 mask or higher.

We have implemented extra sanitation measures for all common areas including the elevators. Please follow the 6 feet social distancing along with all other protocols we have in place.

This virus continues to be highly contagious and letting your guard down for just a moment can be the difference between getting the virus or remaining safe. Please let this be a reminder of the importance of following CDC guidelines which include wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently, and practicing social distancing.

We are trained and prepared to handle whatever we must, to keep ourselves and our residents safe. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
