Health Care Community – The Haven, Assisted Living and Memory Care

We are pleased to report another COVID-19 weekly testing conducted on December 14, 2020 with all negative results. Our Brandermill Woods heroes continue to be diligent in their efforts to keep our residents safe and facility free of COVID-19.

The bad news is that Chesterfield County’s positivity rate posted on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website on December 16,2020 has increased to 15.5%. Due to this increase, we are mandated to test all Health Care Community employees twice a week beginning December 21, 2020. The direct care staff continue to wear N95 masks, and all employees continue to practice frequent and thorough hand washing. Employees continue to be screened daily for signs/symptoms prior to their shift.

On December 21, 2020, we will begin resident/family window visits. The duration of the visit is 30 minutes. Please email Trisha Pedersen at tpedersen@brandermillwoods.com to schedule your visit.

CVS notified us of a tentative schedule for our vaccination program for The Haven residents, and all Brandermill Woods employees. The first round of vaccines is scheduled for January 14, 2021 and the second round on February 4, 2021. We will update you on the plan for the residents at the Assisted Living Community and Memory Care when the information is available.

It is important to mention that the lifting of restrictions on visitation, reducing the use of PPE and regular testing will not occur immediately. The protection of vaccination on our resident and employee populaces will not truly be felt until, not only the long-term care community, but the community at large has been immunized and the threat of COVID-19 infection is lessened. We consider being among the first to be a blessing.

On behalf of all Brandermill Woods employees, we thank the residents and families for their generosity towards the Resident Employee Appreciation Fund.

With heartfelt wishes for a safe Holiday Season!
