Important Status Update from Charmaine Preiss— 11/09/2020

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

This week’s COVID testing conducted on November 9, 2020, found that one Haven employee tested positive for COVID-19. That employee is now quarantined at home.  As a precaution, Brandermill Woods plans to quarantine all Haven residents to their rooms for 14 days and will monitor for signs and symptoms. All Haven residents and staff will be tested twice weekly for two weeks. As always, we will contact you directly if there have been any changes in your loved one’s condition.

This precaution results in dining services, beauty salon services, small group activities, indoor and outdoor visits to be temporarily put on hold at The Haven. We know this news is discouraging, but we feel the risk of exposure is minimal.

Brandermill Woods will continue to test all employees/vendors based on positivity rates in the county, per CMS guidelines. The direct care staff continue to wear N95 masks, and all employees continue to practice frequent and thorough hand washing. Employees continue to be screened daily for signs/symptoms prior to their shift. The current positivity rate reported this week for Chesterfield County is 9.1%; therefore, we will continue our weekly testing for all employees/vendors of the Assisted Living and Memory Care Community.

We are committed to continued transparency about our COVID-19 response and cases in our residents and employees.  You will be notified if there is a development of any new cases of COVID-19 in our community.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to impact our community.  Please continue to follow the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention. We must remain vigilant in following these guidelines.

Wear a mask at all times when around others, wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer, always maintain social distancing of at least six feet, everyone must be screened before entering our community, follow enhanced safety and disinfection recommendations from the CDC, CMS and VDH and, last but not least, stay home if you do not feel well and contact your physician.

Our entire Brandermill Woods Team appreciates your continued support.
