Health Care Community – The Haven, Assisted Living and Memory Care

This week’s weekly COVID testing conducted on January 20, 2021, found that one indirect care staff member tested positive for COVID-19. That individual is now quarantined at home. Residents will continue to be monitored for any signs and symptoms. Any changes in a resident’s condition will be reported to the physician and the family will be made aware.

On January 20, 2021, we retested all residents in the Assisted Living and Memory Care for COVID-19. We are very pleased to report that all results were negative for COVID-19.

On January 20, 2021, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website reported a 22% positivity rate for Chesterfield County. We will continue as mandated to test all Health Care Community employees twice a week until the positivity rate drops below 10%. We continue to follow all CMS, CDC and VDH guidelines.  The direct care staff continue to wear N95 masks, and all employees continue to practice frequent and thorough hand washing. Employees continue to be screened daily for signs/symptoms prior to their shift.

Window and virtual visits are still encouraged until we are able to reopen. For all residents in the Assisted Living/Memory Care and residents in The Haven who occupy a semi-private room with a roommate, we are scheduling resident/family window visits. The duration of the visit is 30 minutes. Please email Trisha Pedersen at tpedersen@brandermillwoods.com to schedule your visit. The residents in the Haven who occupy a private room have access to a window, therefore, no appointment is necessary for a window visit.

Please continue to check the blog on our website www.brandermillwoods.com for additional information.

As always, we appreciate your continued support and cooperation.
