Important ILU Status Update from Charmaine Preiss, Executive Director 8/21

Friday, August 6, 2021

We have just confirmed that a resident who lives in the Independent Living Community who was fully vaccinated has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is isolating at home. We have completed contact tracing and have notified the residents who were exposed.

As a result of this positive test and the increase in the Chesterfield County positivity rate, we will need to resume a few of our COVID safety protocols which call for the following:

·        No guests will be allowed in the Dining rooms, fitness room, or pool because masks are removed in these areas.

·        All vaccinated residents, caregivers, and visitors are required to wear a cloth or surgical mask in all common areas.

·        All non-vaccinated residents are required to wear a KN95 or N95 mask in all common areas.

As the nation experiences a significant spike in cases related to the delta variant, we would ask everyone to please follow the CDC guidelines of washing their hands regularly, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing whenever you go off-campus.

Please remember, even if someone is vaccinated, they can still contractCOVID-19. If you have the following symptoms: fever, sneezing, headache, runny nose, weak/tiredness, please call your physician first and then call the Wellness Nurse. Do not visit any common areas while experiencing these symptoms.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping our community safe and healthy.
