The Holly Inn at Brandermill Woods is a facility specially designed and staffed to accommodate the special care needs of seniors experiencing memory - related difficulties. Beyond simply housing residents, the Holly Inn provides a place where residents can live in comfort, dignity and safety.

Residents of the Holly Inn are attended by staff specially trained in Alzheimer’s and related dementia care. The facility’s floor-plan groups dining and common areas to increase visibility and accessibility as well as encourage group participation and social interaction.

In addition to providing a safe and structured environment, the Holly Inn gives each resident an Individualized Service Plan consisting of the following: Uniform Assessment Instrument, Report of Physical Examination, Cognitive Physician Assessment, Cognitive Rating Scale (the facility’s own functional assessment tool) and family and resident interviews.

Our complete Program of Care addresses every area of need including:

• Residential - private, unfurnished apartments as well as transportation to local medical appointments
• Therapeutic Recreation - a structured daily program; community outings; activities that focus on resident normalization from past experiences and lifestyle; activities that encourage socialization, sensory stimulation and physical exercise; activities that focus on enhancing the cognitive abilities of the residents
• Dining Services - three meals per day served family-style in The Holly Inn’s dining room; snacks between meals
• Personal Care - medication administration and monitoring; bathing assistance, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, eating and incontinence management; physical, occupation and speech therapy, as needed; coordination of medical appointments; emergency medical care - licensed nurse available 24 hours a day
• Housekeeping - bed linens changed weekly (twin size bedding available); clean towels daily; weekly housekeeping

Holly Inn Admission Criteria

• Demonstrated behaviors associated with dementia such as memory deficits; poor judgment, disorientation to time, place, person; decreased attention span; mood fluctuations and wandering behaviors
• Likeliness to demonstrably benefit from therapeutic programming not less than 50% of the time
• Ambulatory (including self propelling in wheelchair or assistive devices such as walkers or canes)
• Able to feed self with cueing
• Be continent of bowel and bladder with a scheduled toileting plan
• Be able to benefit from verbal and visual cueing to assist with activities of daily living.
