The Holly Inn: Dementia Unit
Seniors experiencing memory related difficulties require adjustments
in their living environments so they may safely participate in the
pleasures of life. The Holly Inn at Brandermill Woods is designed
specifically to meet these needs. The dining room, living and activity
areas are clustered to increase visibility, accessibility and encourage
participation in planned activities.
The staff in The Holly Inn is specially trained in Alzheimer’s
and related dementia care. A resident’s day in The Holly
Inn is structured to build on the strengths of each individual
resident. He may participate in programs planned specifically
for residents with memory loss or participate in normal daily
activities with a focus on companionship and friendship, both
of which are known to lessen the frustrations caused by memory
loss.
